Perfect PREFECT

Great spelling site you can use at home!

Spelling City

Many teachers use this site, sometimes as part of the class programme, sometimes just for a few students to use. There are fun activities based on the word list you put in, I enjoyed playing them too! Spelling City is free but you can purchase 'better' things to do with the programmes available.

If you are concerned about your child's spelling I recommend trialling the site yourself. Look at your childs work books and note the spelling that is always incorrect & start these as a base for learning.

Students can also access Spelling City themselves for independent learning.

Week 8 March 19th

The first term is fast disappearing. Today the weather is wet, wild and windy and student engagement was cancelled so students have been inside socialising...cards, drawing, talking, and a very few catching up with work.

The last lesson slot we were in the gymnasium. Rutherford 2 love PE & all participated in large ball games, using skills of passing, throwing, catching and in the well-loved game of dodge- ball, aiming!

Welcome to the blogspace of Rutherford 2.

Since starting the school year our feet haven't touched the ground! Two four-day weeks, Girls Self Defence, meeting parents who have volunteered for camp, Haka competition practicing,  a swimming  morning with our team, swimming school sports day, photographs and Chinese language has started.

To top it off camp at the Tarawera Outlet - sleeping in tents - eating in the open, trees, fresh air, beautiful lakes...what more could we want?

WEEK 5

It was unfortunate that whilst at camp we experienced bad weather.
As some of the photos show, it didn't rain all of the time and students were able to join in with planned activites. Three groups were able to test the water downstream of the outlet. We all found a pH of 7, a temperature of 10 degrees C, banks were stable although very muddy where we entered, the water was moving (not stagnant), and using the clarity tube we could see the water was clear. From this data we should have been able to find macro-invertebrates but we found none....why?
